Contact lenses continue to be popular. Many people wear them every day but they are also worn by patients who want to wear them occasionally (e.g. for special occasions and playing sport).
Daily disposable lenses are increasingly accessible and are the most hygienic way to wear contact lenses.
Longer life lenses are still used by some patients. They are cleaned after use, stored overnight and then re-worn the next day; they are then disposed of after a certain time (typically fortnightly or monthly).
